And often the most intelligent and interesting interaction there is to be had. In fact in my city we a have phrase "he could start an argument in an empty house" (I transliterate) and in truth I often do when my flat-mate is away, it fills in the time.
If I'm feeling slightly tired, not quite able to muster it all myself, I switch on the wireless and invariably something said on the BBC will set me off. Then after letting off some steam, I put the kettle onto boil and make a cup of tea. And thank the Chap Above that my ancestors subjucated India, and made the Chinese drug addicts which allowed me to inherit the leafings of Mr Tetley and Mr P G Tips and not like some poor Yankee be eternally thankful for some dark, over-sweet, cola-nut flavored(sic) aerated water.
