Pain. Sudden, sharp, shocking, it hit like an electric jolt. She held her breath and tensed ever muscle in her body for an interminable moment that lasted a few seconds that seemed much longer. Finally the sharp pain gave way to a dull throb and she could feel him inside her, but pressed up against another resistance. Somehow she knew this would hurt even worse. She was afraid. Despite everything she’d been through at battle school, despite all her tough posturing, she’d never really had to deal with much pain before. Some twisted ankles from bad landings, a bruise here and there, a jammed finger from soft landing on a wall too fast, nothing major. This had felt very different. Some of those things might have actually hurt more, but this was inside her. It was doubly frightening.
Dink had noticed and stopped, though he was trembling with the effort of holding back. She could see he was only barely restraining himself. She could see the pleasure on his face, so intense it was actually hurting him not to thrust further. She kissed him and grabbed his hips with her hands, pulling him toward her before she could think to do otherwise.
She screamed, and that sent him over the edge. She felt him thrusting spasmodically into her and something gushed inside as the blinding hot pain seared her mind. He collapsed on top of her, unprepared for the sudden weakness. Still in pain, Petra wiped away her tears so that Dink couldn’t see. This was fine. She deserved this. If she could give him something like this after what she’d done, it was her duty to do so. She held him as he breathed heavily, the sweet smell of plums finding its way to her nose as he said.
“I’m… sorry… Couldn’t stop… couldn’t stop it. I’m sorry…” he started again, but she held a finger to his lips, then pulled his face to hers to kiss. He rolled on his side so he wasn’t laying on top of her, then pulled her to his chest. They lay there for a while, perhaps minutes, perhaps hours. Petra was beyond thinking or caring about it.
